ICONIC WESTERN LIVING
AMBIANCE
Imagine. You look out your window to see a family herd of bison grazing on your property, the same as they would have been centuries ago. Nothing adds a rustic western ambiance to your home and property quite like bison.
BIOSPHERE
At one point, North American Bison populations dipped from 60 million to a mere 541 animals. These native livestock play a keystone role in organically maintaining grasslands. Over 50 additional native species have been shown to benefit from the presence of bison. Establishing your own bison herd is something you can feel good about. In addition, bison produce less than half the amount of methane as compared to cattle.

A fun and meaningful way to engage with Montana's most iconic native animal
Engagement
Bison are fun to engage with. Whether scratching the head of a baby or hand-feeding a mama, having a small herd of bison will allow you to get to know your animals' unique personalities, and engage with them in meaningful ways.

Finances
Having a bison ranch or micro-ranch may permit you to get an agricultural exemption that can save you a fortune on your property taxes. Furthermore, you can have organic bison meat for both consumption and meaningful gifts at a fraction of the retail price.

Nutrition
For some herd owners, bison herds can also serve as an incredible source of organic meat. Harvesting even one animal per year can result in 250 pounds of organic steaks and ground meat. Bison meat is a healthier alternative to beef across the board: higher protein, lower fat content, lower cholesterol, and higher densities of vitamins (see nutrition chart below).
